ΕΝΗΜΕΡΩΣΗ ΜΑΘΗΤΩΝ ΤΟΥ ΑΡΙΣΤΟΤΕΛΗ ΓΙΑ ΤΑ ΕΘΝΙΚΑ ΘΕΜΑΤΑ

HART HOUSE:" Insight to Hellenism" 5/3/2011

Το εχόμενο Σάββατο 5 Μαρτίου, οι μαθητές της 12^ης τάξης του Αριστοτέλη-Credit School θα έχουν μια σημαντική ευκαιρία να ενημερωθούν για τα εθνικά μας θέματα, συμμετέχοντας στην εκδήλωση «Insight to Hellenism», που διοργανώνεται από τους Συλλόγους Ελλήνων Φοιτητών (ΣΕΦ) των Πανεπιστημίων York, U of T και Ryerson υπό την αιγίδα του δικτύου νεολαίας του ΣΑΕ-Καναδά. Τους μαθητές μας θα παραλάβει σχολικό λεωφορείο ( 9:15 από το GS Henry, 9:30 Eastern Commerce) και θα τους μεταφέρει, συνοδεία των καθηγητών τους, στο Hart House, του Πανεπιστημίου του Τορόντο, όπου θα πραγματοποιηθεί η εκδήλωση.

Θα ακούσουν καθηγητές και γνώστες εθνικών μας θεμάτων να μιλούν για το Κυπριακό, το ζήτημα της ονομασίας της FYROM, την εκστρατεία για την επιστροφή των γλυπτών του Παρθενώνα ( Ελγίνεια) στην Αθήνα αλλά και για την οικονομική κρίση που αντιμετωπίζει η Ελλάδα ενώ θα έχουν την δυνατότητα να κάνουν ερωτήσεις και να συμμετέχουν σε σχετικές συζητήσεις.

Στους μαθητές μας θα προσφερθεί φαγητό ενώ η αναχώρηση για την επιστροφή στα σχολεία μας έχει προγραμματιστεί στις 1:45.

Insight to HellenismThis event will be held at the University of Toronto as a series of lectures on the current topics and issues concerning Greece today. The main objective of the series is to better inform the participants as well as provide them with an understanding of the Macedonian name issue, the Cyprus problem and with an in depth look into the current economic crisis in Greece. Lectures will be presented by:

Dr. Dimitris Nakassis (University of Toronto) – Guided tour of the Royal Ontario Museum's permanent exhibits of Ancient Greece and Cyprus.
Mr. Dinos Sophocleous (PSEKA Canada) – Cyprus Problem and other contemporary issues on Cyprus.
Dr. Theodore Tolias (York University, Schulich School of Business) – The Economic Crisis in Greece.
Nikos Koumettis – President, Canada Business Unit, Coca Cola Canada

Open to the general public, invited to this Day Event are young people of Hellenic and non Hellenic descent from across Ontario and Quebec who will be given the unique opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and experiences and further their knowledge of modern Greek life, culture and current social-political affairs.
They will also be given the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Royal Ontario Museum's (ROM) exhibits of Ancient Greece and Cyprus.
